I’m fvzz (fuzz). Started producing dnb in the summer of ’07. I also like to make hip hop beats, which is actually what I was first producing when I started out. Although not as frequent these days, I still play guitar. Little did I know, but I’ve been getting my music education since I was a baby. Listening to my dad’s “crap” (mostly reggae) was actually more helpful than I thought. Since starting beatmaking, I’ve learned to mix vinyls and do remixes. Any other choons & mixes I’ve recorded can be found on my Soundcloud. Peace.
Q & A with fvzz

Q: Where does your artist name come from?
A: fuzz and shorty/short ribs are my nicknames, but the whole “short” thing is so common.

Q: Tell us more about your musical roots!
A: I really got into the rap-rock thing and bought a guitar at 12 so I could be just like my heroes. Bands I would join never really had any direction so I decided to forge my own path.

Q: How did you start producing music?
A: Wanted some software to record guitar but then I got caught up messin’ with the loops that came with it.

Q: Are you also a DJ?

A: Been mixing for a couple years now, but I can only play when friends invite me and I have free time.

Q: Do you work together with other artists also? E.g. Remixes?

A: I’ve only done one formal remix so far for my pal DJKennethA. Other remixes can be found on my Soundcloud. Besides that, D Fyne Stylez has laid some lyrics on beats I’ve done, and those are also up on Soundcloud.

Q: Do you have any special musical aims?
A: I would like to work with more emcees because I really like hip-hop. Also, when I finish school and take a year off, I’d like to start dj’ing Drum n Bass more.

Q: What do you think of the contemporary popular music which is played by normal radio stations?
A: I don’t want to say all of pop music is bad, because oldies I like now were once considered pop. The problem is that it’s based on image much more than ever now, which is what really brings the music down.

Q: What have you read recently (book, play, film, etc.) that moved or surprised you?

A: Been reading some Kafka comics and I’ve really enjoyed them.

Q: What is your all-time favorite track? Why?
A: That’s too hard to answer! I have different ones for different genres.

Q: What's one thing you're a fan of that people might not expect?
A: cycling, and soccer!
